The Malazan Archives Volumes I–IV: Archival Clamshell Box Set for the First Four Subterranean Press Editions

$375.00

Gardens of the Moon · Deadhouse Gates · Memories of Ice · House of Chains

This group listing includes the individual enclosures: Moon’s Spawn, Chain of Dogs, Shield Anvil’s Rest, andKarsa’s Archive.

From moonlit rooftops to desert crucibles, siege-ravaged cities to blood-soaked pits, the opening volumes of Steven Erikson’s Malazan Book of the Fallen are both epic in scale and harrowing in detail. The Malazan Archives Volume I–IVis a unified series of handcrafted archival clamshell boxes, designed to preserve the first four Subterranean Press editions in enduring, thematic harmony.

Each enclosure is constructed from conservation-grade materials and wrapped in medium brown linen cloth, chosen for its texture and tonal warmth. Inside, the tray walls and spine inserts are lined in Japanese book cloth selected to complement the color palettes of each dust jacket: Copper for Gardens of the Moon, Golden Brown for Deadhouse Gates, Emerald Green for Memories of Ice, and Mustard Yellow for House of Chains. Buffered archival cardstock lines the trays to create a secure, acid-free cradle, while a precision-fitted spine insert adds structural integrity and helps create a stable, microclimate-sealed refuge.

Each box features a recessed label printed on premium vellum photo paper and sealed with an archival acrylic coating and includes a matching sword and border motif in cloth-coordinated tones. When displayed together, the four enclosures form a continuous visual rhythm—a wall of memory, conflict, and prophecy.

Whether you collect for beauty, rarity, or devotion, these boxes are built to withstand time, dust, and war. They are vessels not just for books, but for worlds.

As the saga unfolds, so too will this series of enclosures. Each future Malazan Book of the Fallen volume released by Subterranean Press will receive its own archival clamshell box, crafted in harmony with those before it. The outer cloth will remain constant, a unifying shell, while the inner trays will echo the palette of each dust jacket—shades drawn from battlefields, warrens, and distant continents. Recessed labels, bordered with blades, will carry forward the visual lineage, ensuring that each box is both a tribute to its volume and a piece of the whole.
