Handcrafted by Bibliopathologist, drawing on decades of expertise in archival preservation and bookbinding, this drop-spine enclosure is tailored specifically for the 2016 first edition hardcover. The outer case is wrapped in premium white vegan leather with a rich & supple feel, a subtle homage to the covers of classic school yearbooks—clean, dignified, and evocative of institutional tradition. Within, the upper tray is clad in light blue book cloth and the lower tray in deep navy, echoing the University of Maine’s school colors. The interior is lined with soft blue Laval suede and a matching inner spine insert, creating a layered gradient of texture and tone—bookish yet bold.
The spine features a custom-designed printed label in the University of Maine’s official colors. Rendered in light and dark blue on white vellum photo paper and coated in archival acrylic, the label includes the school seal and publication details, offering durability, UV protection, and a clear academic identity.
